St. Regis Monarch Beach Turned Over To Citigroup
the owners of the St. Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point, California had defaulted on a $70-million loan. The Orange County resort, infamous for being the site of the $443,000 AIG retreat after the federal bailout, was scheduled for a foreclosure auction. The auction didn’t take place and the resort was officially turned over to the lender of its $70 million mezzanine loan, Citigroup. The Wall Street Journal reports that deal took place after weeks of negotiations between Citigroup and the owners of the hotel, Farallon Capital Management LLC and Makar Properties LLC. A Citigroup spokesperson has said that the foreclosure acquisition will have no impact on the daily operations of the resort which will carry on as usual.
The St. Regis has a 400-room hotel, a golf course, a private beach club and several restaurants including Michael Mina’s Stonehill Tavern. The property is current on two other mortgages totaling $230 million and was refinanced in 2007 resulting in the $300 million in debt. The five-star hotel is located near Laguna Beach, California which is also home to Ritz-Carlton and Montage luxury resorts. Occupancy

A row of eucalyptus trees reveals the 5,500 square-foot contemporary home, which was designed by Jerry Kler, a well-known Sausalito architect. They’ve got some more growing to do to catch up with the iTunes App Store, but still: RIM has announced that after less than four months in existence, the BlackBerry App World now boasts 2,000 options—twice as many as when it launched. For the most part, that means BlackBerry users now waste time exactly like iPhone addicts, with apps for Facebook, Twitter, Pandora, Google Maps, and the rest of the frequent-fliers. BlackBerry exclusives, like Poynt (which “points” you in the direction of cool things you’ve searched for nearby), are well worth a spin, though they usually have iPhone equivalents. And if you’re still feeling iPhone-covetous, there’s the bPhone app, which makes your CrackBerry look just like the Jobs model. All in all, iPhoners still have 53,732 more apps to choose from…for better or worse. Crazy Penguin Catapult? Currently a best seller.

The Secret Society
ok ok so i will be posting pictures of some of the sketches from the clothing line shortly. there are a few legal things that we still have to work out but i promise as soon as we get through with those, the pics will be posted. hopefully we can get up a couple of our early sketches and some of the concepts behind the line within the next couple of weeks. so just stay tuned and i will most def keep everyone posted on how the line is progressing. starting with this post, there will be an weekly update post on The Secret Society line. whether it be on our new designs, explanation behind the concepts, or new ideas that we have come up to incorporate into the line, your Secret Society fix will be right here on this blog. feel free to comment and share your opinion, it would be greatly appreciated and taken into consideration.
